Fuel Storage Tank Rules

Over the years underground fuel storage tanks in Florida have been unchecked and slowly leaking gasoline and other harmful contaminates into the water table. Because of these older tanks causing such a negative impact to our environment, the EPA has set up new and stricter fuel storage tank rules.

Currently there are close to 30,000 underground storage tanks that are going to be affected by these new fuel storage tank rules. These new fuel storage tank rules will be in affect be the end of 2009.

The fuel storage tank rules require all gas stations to comply by December 31st, 2009. If you are found to be noncompliant by the fuel storage tank rules deadline will be fined everyday they don’t comply.  There will be no extensions to this deadline so all must comply with the new fuel storage tank rules by this date.
