FDEP Storage Tank Regulations
All storage tanks in Florida must comply with the new FDEP storage tank regulations for corrosion protection, spill and overflow prevention and leak detection.

Noncompliance with the new 2010 FDEP storage tank regulations can result in gas station being fined, being shut down and put out of business.

Storage tank owners will have several choices to comply with the standards of the new FDEP storage tank regulations.

Choice #1 will be the installation of a completely new storage tank and associated piping with one that comply with the EPA FDEP storage tank regulations. Total replacement is the most costly choice to comply with these FDEP storage tank regulations.

Choice # 2 is to upgrade your storage tanks to comply with the new FDEP storage tank regulations. This is a great choice as it is quicker, less down time and is less than half the cost than choice #1. Your existing storage tanks and piping can be retrofitted with a secondary containment layer.

Choice #3 is to remove your out storage tank and stop selling gasoline. Sounds abrasive, but if you do not replace your storage tanks or reline them you will be forced to remove them, which will probably cost as much as choice #2.

Time is running out and the new Florida storage tank regulation deadline is fast approaching.  There are over 20,000 storage tanks in Florida those still needs to be replaced or upgraded to comply with the FDEP storage tank regulations. Contact us today!
