Fuel Storage Tank Laws

The new EPA fuel storage laws will affect all gas stations throughout Florida, and if you are one of the owners of the over 20,000 fuel storage tanks that are still not in compliance you need to read this.

Leaking fuel storage tanks pose an immediate and serious threat to Florida’s aquifer and over the years older fuel storage tanks have leaked and contaminated the ground water. The new Florida fuel storage tank laws are put forth to prevent these types of problems and to protect the environment.

The fuel storage tank laws will become effective on December 31, 2009. If your fuel storage tanks are not in compliance with the fuel storage tank laws you will be closed and be fined daily until you meet these standards.
